Prison reform

Globally, incarceration is perceived as the best approach of combating delinquency. It serves as both a punishment and as a form of deterrence. It involves imprisonment accompanied by correctional activities. It denies the offenders their freedom to move and restricts it to the involved facility, as punishment for their crimes and violation of laws. Though the main purpose of this imprisonment is punishment, it serves as a form of deterrence. It aids in warning the offenders against future crime. It also shows potential offenders what to expect if they engage in criminal activities, thus discouraging offenders. However, there is need to develop and implement prison reforms in the USA. Prison reforms...

Major effect switching accounting standards from NGAAP to IFRS

The US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) is a set of commonly acknowledged principles in accounting that determine the earning and value the assets of American companies for the last 75 years. Companies outside the U.S., have been using different globally standards called international financial reporting standards, IFRS. However, the country is now adopting the global standards, but it is not a smooth transition. Experts have diverse opinions on the implications of this shift but they all agree that the move has both positive and negative impacts (Lin S, Riccardi W & Wang C. 2012, 648). Literature Review on Language Variation Between any two speakers of a given language, there exists a type of variation in how the language is used between them. For instance, the variation may be demonstrated by the difference in linguistics by the sound, phonetically, or by the structure, grammatically. Holmes & Wilson (2017), in their book An introduction to sociolinguistics, say that in some cases, there might be slight variations, like in grammatical structure or in slight changes in pronunciations; which do not hinder intergroup interactions. The act of studying the relationship between society and language is, thus, referred to as sociolinguistics. The study of sociolinguistics is of great...
